Under the bridge of Pont de Bir-Hakeim in Paris – time stops. Vincent Leroy is the contemporary artist responsible for this ‘shift in perception’. His jaw-dropping installation titled ‘Slow drop’ suspends light on elliptic, giant surface and this way reflects images of its environment. The result is: images that belong to another era or maybe… another universe. The romantic neighborhood and the futuristic sights both hold still in frozen bubble. Leroy miraculously pauses – time and space. The dew-like shape that refuses to fall poses numerous questions and enigmatic interpretations.
The skillful delay is achieved with inflatable envelope made of thick yet transparent plastic.
Jerome Echenoz from Adorable Studio has produced sound design synchronized with both the motion of the installation and the subway passing on the bridge above the sculpture.
